Its objective is to facilitate user participation in monitoring and safeguarding local environments through accessible and straightforward reporting tools.

When encountering instances of environmental pollution or illegal dumping, users can open the app, capture a photograph, input relevant details—including contact information—and submit a report. The app automatically transmits GPS coordinates to assist authorities in efficiently locating the issue. In cases where network coverage or GPS signals are limited, users may photograph the issue for later submission through the app, ensuring that reports can still be made and forwarded to the appropriate local authorities for action. Users are encouraged to check with their local councils for updates on the progress of their reports.

Additionally, the app incorporates a direct dial feature to contact the National Environmental Complaints Line at 1 800 365 123. This service operates continuously—24 hours a day, seven days a week—and all calls are handled by trained personnel. Complaint details, including location and nature of the issue, are recorded and relayed to relevant agencies such as local authorities, Gardaí, or the EPA for further investigation and follow-up.
